11: 00 am --Buses arrive with HC students at UCSD (corner of Gilman & Myers near Admissions)

(**Physicians parking is located in the North Parking Structure
between Gilman and Russell Lane, East of Medical School)

11:05- 11:20 am --Michael Dabney takes students on brief walking tour of key campus sites on the way to Medical School.

11:20-11:25 am --Group arrives at Medical School’s Club Med restaurant where the kids are divided into groups for lunch with KP Physicians and medical students.

(Club Med located behind main medical school building)

11:30-12:05 pm --Kids have Lunch with KP Physicians and medical students on lawn area outside Club Med.

12:05-12:15 pm --BREAK

12:15-12:20 pm --Divide kids and medical students into two groups for neuroscience and anatomy lab session with Chris Hopkins, lab manager.

12:25-1:25 pm --Kids will rotate through 3 hands-on medical lab presentations (20 mins each) – brain study, microscope study, and anatomy labs with Lab Manager Chris Hopkins and staff.

1:25-1:30 pm --Kids assemble with KP Physicians and med students in Garren Hall for brief welcome by Mike Dabney of UCSD.

1:30-1:50 pm --Garren Hall - Medical school mini-lecture by Dr. Charles Simmons, who is an ER physician and UCSD medical school grad, on relevant ER topic for kids.

1:50-2:10 pm --Garren Hall - What kids can be doing now to prepare for medical school – Percy Russell, Ph.D., member of UCSD Medical School
Admissions Committee, and brief remarks from Patrick Velasquez, Director of UCSD OASIS academic program, and David Artis, Director, UCSD Academic Enrichment Program.

2:10-2:20 pm --Garren Hall - Medical Students introduce and tell something about themselves (i.e. where they grew up and went to school) and what a typical day in medical school is like for them.

2:20-:2:25 pm --Garren Hall - Brief closing remarks by Dr. Sistos, and recitation of Hippocrates Circle Oath.

2:30 pm -- Kids board buses at Gilman and Myers bus stop.
